Pegas company was founded by Ing. Josef Gonda in 1990. PEGAS = PE pa G onda A nd Sons.
Pegas company deals with an assembling and selling of band and circular saw machines from the very beginning. In 1991 PEGAS – QUATTRO family company arised, quattro in the title symbolizes four family members – four partners.
1993 – our own premises in Ruprechtov, we increase a production and we begin to develope a new branch – metal production with a well equipped workroom for metal cutting, that serves as the best place for a testing of new types of band saw machines.
1994 – we develope semiautomatic machines – PROFESIONAL,we enlarge our business activities to Slovak republic and Poland.
2000 – we obtain an ISO 2000 Certificate, we develope the first automatic machine, our business strategy starts to concentrate on other european countries.2001 – we produce big two- column machines HERKULES, there is a big progress in our company, 50 employees work with the company, we buy a new premises in Slavkov u Brna . Together with the change of a point of work we also change the name of our company – PEGAS –GONDA s.r.o.
2003 – we move a complete production of band saw machines to Slavkov, we produce the biggest czech band saw machine GOLEM 1600x1200 with a possibility of vertical as well as horizontal cuts of block from tool steel.
2004- Number of 65 employees produce a complete range of 40 types of band saw machines that are able to make cuts from 100 – 1600 mm in five halls of 7000 m 2 area. 80% of our production goes abroad. Our main activity is a serie production of band saw machines, we occupy with a developement of new machines very intensively, we improve our origin offer and we also develope special machines, we weld blades ( equipement with an automatic shears and welding machines IDEAL), we sell circular saw machines and disks.
2005 – our company starts with a modernization- we buy CNC machines and start a construction of new halls for production. We expand to a new foreign markets. At the MSV exhibition in Brno we present new types of machines including 850x100 GOLEM, 500x500 HERKULES and the whole new line 350. Number of employees increases.
2006- the construction of a new hall is started, parking place is enlarged due to increasing number of employees. New types of machines are constructed and presented : 510x510 HERKULES, 290x290 A-CNC and unique machines 1200x1600 GOLEM 1250x1600 PORTAL. 1200x1600 machine was a great success at the international exhibition in Brno where it was presented for the first time. This machine was awarded by a GOLD MEDAIL – the best exponate of the exhibition, it was awarded also by a TECHNIKA A TRH magazine and was nominated to the competition of best product of the year 2006.
2007- Pegas – Gonda company celebrated its 15. anniversary of production of band saw machines in March. At this occasion OPEN HOUSE was held and new production hall No.6 was opened – its construction was started in 2006. Thanks to this new room of the assembly hall the whole assembly of machines was speeded up.8 brand new models of band saw machines were designed in 2007, one of them is a world unique object – CAMEL, which is suitable for tube cutting till the diameter 600 mm. These new machines thanks to their technical level exceed the majority of our world competitors and it enables to increase our production. Machines were presented at the international exhibition in Brno in October. Two models of machines that were equipped by a highly powerful carbid blades were presented here and the illustration of cutting was made. The time of one cut with bimetal blade is 1 hour 25 minutes. The time of the same cut on machine of a new construction with carbide blade is only 9 minutes. The whole exposition was a presentation of new models and new visual style of the company. All new models are included in the production programm and we are designing new models of machines.The company increases – the construction of a new assembly hall No.7 is made, by its finishing the whole company area will be connected into one compact unit. At the construction of the hall there is 100% participation of companies from Slavkov and its surroundingWe are investing into enlarging of our technology in 2007-2008. We buy 4 CNC machining centers, CNC lathe, CNC press brake and CNC laser.
Now the company produces 93 models of band saw machines, in production of huge band saw machines as HERKULES, GOLEM and PORTÁL Pegas - Gonda company counts among 4 biggest producers in Europe. 80% from the whole production goes abroad. The proof of the dynamic development of the company it is the every year increase of employee number and extending of production room. Investment counting 60 million czech crowns into the construction of the second production hall and into production technology, enlarging number of 125 employees – this is the way how to fulfil the increasing and more exacting demands of our customers.
