PEGAS 240x280 A-NC-R is a highly efficient automatic hydraulically controlled band-saw with multiple material feed, suitable for cutting steel (including tool steel and stainless steel), non-ferrous and light metals. The machine is designed for cutting vertical and angular levels; angular cuts are steplessly adjustable from 0° to +60° right (in semiautomatic cycle).
The band-saw has a sturdy design. The arm is made of cast iron and is designed to provide the necessary performance and accuracy of cutting. Its 25° incline prolongs the life of the saw blade. The arm is driven by a shaft supported by conical bearings, which can be adjusted. It is driven by a three-phase motor through a worm-gear unit. The arm is firmly attached to the gear unit, which is housed on the motor, and by a joint to the base; this allows setting it 60° to the left. The base is equipped with cooling equipment.
The main switch is located on the front panel. It is equipped with a safety button for stopping the saw and another two buttons for turning it on. Further, there is a feed regulator and additional buttons for controlling various movements of the machine, which are necessary for the “SAW MICRO” tool. (Nine different settings can be programmed. The programme contains the number of pieces and the length. The multiple feed is calculated automatically by a processor. Various modes of sawing can be selected and lengths between pre-set programmes can be changed automatically.)
The vice is made of cast iron and its jaws ensure safe gripping of the material. The feeding vice travels on two edged bars with Teflon bushings and is powered by a hydraulic cylinder. This assembly is called the feeder. This design allows free perpendicular movement of the vice to the feed route. The fixed jaw of the feed-vice thus absorbs possible crookedness of the fed material and thus eliminates wear of mechanical parts of the feeder.
The saw is equipped with an electromagnetic device, which controls the tension of the saw blade and a limit switch, which protects the blade against insufficient tension. The saw blade is powered by an electromotor with a frequency changer (stepless speed control), worm-gear unit and a sturdy flange with a shaft. The driving and tensioning pulleys are casts.
It features a cooling system with cutting emulsion distributed to the band-saw guide.
